The King's Speech Synopsis
England's Prince Albert (Colin Firth), soon to ascend the throne as King George VI, suffers from a terrible speech impediment. Knowing that their country needs a ruler who can communicate effectively, Queen Elizabeth (Helena Bonham Carter) hires Lionel Logue (Geoffrey Rush), an Australian actor and speech therapist, to help her husband overcome his stammer. An extraordinary friendship develops between the pair as Logue uses unconventional means to teach the monarch how to speak with confidence.
