A couple of years after the *ankers sent us all to the financial abyss comes Charles Ferguson’s Oscar nominated documentary which purports to reveal that despite a torrent of promises, the Obama government has done nothing to stem the tide on Wall Street. From this clip, it seems very safe to say that Inside Job will be a project very much in the Michael Moore mould of documentary film-making.
The film has received mostly positive reviews, earning a 97% “fresh” rating on Rotten Tomatoes website, with many critics commending the director’s ability to seek the testimony of some of the financial district’s most prominent movers-and-shakers. But it is Matt Damon who steals the limelight as he narrates the furious takedown of the financial services and the government. It’s a fairly bold move by the actor. Inside Job hits UK cinemas on Friday 18th February.
