Locke tells the story of Ivan Locke (Tom Hardy) as he drives from Birmingham to London, to be at the birth of a child conceived during a one-night stand.
Locke is a unique film, with shooting taking place in real time, and with Tom Hardy as the only character to appear on screen. All other characters are only heard on the phone, as Ivan is driving.
Hardy gives a powerful performance; this one man show in a single location is held together by an emotional act, which Hardy should rightly be praised for.
There aren’t many films as intriguing as Locke, and anyone looking for a new film experience will definatly find it here.
Locke is on Film4 at 12.40am (perhaps one for catch-up!)
