On Monday night Anita, Emma G and Letitia will go head to head in the live final of Britain and Ireland’s Next Top Model. OTB caught up with the three girls ahead of next week’s showdown to discuss their time on B&INTM, and to find out what advice they have for models that want to enter next year’s show…
The final of Britain and Ireland’s Next Top Model will be on Sky Living at 9pm on Monday 1st October
Hi girls, congratulations for getting to the final. What are your personal highlights from your time on the show?
Anita: I’ve loved my time on the show and I don’t regret one part of it. I’ve really enjoyed everything – my biggest highlight was getting Picture of the Week for the first time.
Emma G: I’ve loved it so much. I suppose being told we were going to Dubai was the first time when it hit me that this was real and actually happening.
Letitia: Going to Dubai was unbelievable. I had a really great time. The French speaking challenge in Episode 6 was a highlight, mainly because I won!
What was the toughest aspect of the programme?
Letitia: I can’t explain it, it’s weird… You have to get two pictures done in five minutes, in real life you’d get four days to do them. Then there’s the fact you don’t see your family for a few weeks at a time…
Emma G: It’s such an intense experience – every four days you’re up for elimination so you don’t know whether you’re going or staying, and you don’t know what your picture is going to be like. It’s such a mix of emotions!
Anita: I think that being a house with loads of people you don’t really know was a bit of a challenge, but we all got on so well.
What advice would you give to anyone hoping to get on the show next year?
Emma G: I think it’s important to be yourself and stay true to who you are. Take everything the judges say with a pinch of salt because they’re only there to help you and what they say is mostly constructive criticism. Stay confident, don’t dwell on negativity, oh and don’t forget to practice in the mirror before you go in!
Anita: Don’t dwell any negative comments from the judges – it might seem really big at the time but it’s probably quite minor, and as long as you work on it you will improve and feel better about yourself.
Letitia: Like the girls have said, take any criticism constructively, the judges are there to help you – they have so much experience of the industry. The week when I was in the bottom two and they told me I rely on my beauty too much, I deliberately tried to make myself look ugly the next week, but when I watched it back on TV I realised that it wasn’t a big issue. Everything hits you a lot harder when you experience it on the show.
Did you get on with the judges? Were they ever too harsh?
Letitia: I loved all the judges to be honest, I think that they have all been such an important part of my life and I am so grateful for all their advice.
Anita: They weren’t ever actually that harsh to me. They helped us out a lot and I could always go to them for advice.
Emma G: I think the judges were great, and they’re people you look up to and respect. It’s so nice to have their opinion on your pictures and stuff. I did think that sometimes their comments weren’t necessary, I think that Whitney had a bit of a grudge towards me. Other than that the judges were great!
What plans do you have for the future?
Anita: No matter what happens, I will carry on modelling. I am going to try really hard to make it in the industry.
Emma G: Whatever happens in the final I have no intention of stopping modelling, I’m determined to continue in the industry, and I’d love to be a professional commercial model. The sky’s the limit really!
Letitia: Like the others, I really want to succeed in this industry, and even if I don’t win the show it will only make me want to work harder.
Good luck with the final, girls – may the best model win!
