We’ve been pretty sure that nothing in this world of ours is sacred for some time, but we received confirmation this morning when someone told us that ABC is planning an American remake of Only Fools and Horses.
It’s alright though, because the the team making it are the ones behind Scrubs (because those two shows are so frigging similar!)
Apparently this monstrosity will âchronicle the misadventures of two streetwise brothers and their aging grandfather as they concoct outrageous, morally questionable get rich quick schemes in their quest to become millionaires.â? Steve Carrell – who has previous when it comes to nicking our best comedy characters – is widely thought to be the man to reprise Del Boy. There are also some god-awful rumours going about that Jason Biggs could be playing Rodney (seriously!?).
âThe British do sitcoms better than anybody else in the world,” said Carrel. “I think with the right scriptwriters and cast we could do âOnly Fools and Horsesâ justice. If anybody wants to help me do a remake Iâd love it.”
