Alan Titchmarsh Signs New 11m ITV Contract

It seems that getting your hands dirty is good for you bank balance as housewife heart throb Alan Titchmarsh has signed a new deal with ITV reportedly worth £11m.

He’s set to present a new evening gardening show to rival BBC2’s Gardener’s World according to The Sun and the deal also secures at least four more series of The Alan Titchmarsh Show as well as other prominent presenting positions.

Titchmarsh said, “My greatest commitment has always been to people at home who want reliable information put over in a clear manner. And the opportunity to offer a trustworthy brand is a challenge I am determined to fulfil.”

A source went on to say, “Alan loves gardening and was desperate to do a show like Gardeners’ World for ITV. Gardening is big business in Britain, so it makes perfect sense.

“The deal also means they can flog loads of stuff with Alan’s name on. He’s a trusted guy so they’re pretty confident he will make money for them.”

Titchmarsh himself will reportedly make £5m personally from the deal with the rest going to production company Spun Gold.
