It's a story based on the real life experiences of Channing "Punchy" Tatum who worked as a stripper in his late teens. He's recently finished a film with Soderbergh called Haywire and must have told him a story or two because the pair have penned a script which sees a youngster decide that stripping should be his life and attempts to get some advice from an older performer.
Pettyfer will play Tatum's younger self and Tatum the aging Chippendale who will teach everything there is to know about ditching your clothes, both on and off the stage. Reid Carolin will be working on the script which Soderbergh has called ""sexy, funny and shocking" using Saturday Night Fever as a model.
Pettyfer's been making some waves lately as Number Four in I Am Number Four and the starring role in the ill-received Beastly. He'll next been seen in Andrew Nichol's new sci-fi thriller which has gone through a number of name changes - originally it was I'm.mortal, then it was Now but Deadline are reporting that it's latest name as of yesterday is In Time.
