Anchorman 2 Confirmed By Will Ferrell

Finally some news that stings the nostrils. Will Ferrell has confirmed that a sequel to Anchorman will definitely happen. He revealed the news as he pre-recorded an appearance in character on Wednesday night’s Conan O’Brien Show.

“I actually have an announcement. I want to announce this to everyone here in the Americas, to our friends in Spain, Turkey and the UK – including England – that as of 0900 Mountain Time, Paramount Pictures and myself, Ronald Joseph Aaron Burgundy, have come to terms on a sequel to Anchorman,” he said.

“It is official! There will be a sequel to Anchorman. There will be a sequel.”

Deadline are all over the finer details – Adam McKay will return on writing duties and Judd Apatow will produce. Paul Rudd and Steve Carell are tipped to reprise their roles as Brian Fantana and Brick Tamland and everyone down here at OTB Towers is doing a celebratory dance.

Production is scheuduled to start at the end of the year for a 2013 release.
