Adapted from a non-fiction account by Mickey Rapkin, Pitch Perfect sees a gothy teen whose unahppy time at a school where her father is a professor turns around once she discovers her previously unheralded musical talent in an acapella group.
Doesn’t sound too plausible so far does it? But non-fiction people, non-fiction. Rebel Wilson is also locked in (you might remember her in Bridesmaids as Kristin Wiig’s roommate – complete with dodgy accent).
The plot may not seem all that compelling but it’s got 30 Rock writer Kay Cannon behind it and that can only be a good thing. In addition, it’s also got Avenue Q director Jason Moore in the director’s chair and there’s a man that knows a thing or two about blending music and comedy.
Shooting begins in a few months in New Orleans.
