Ant & Dec Sign New ‘Golden Handcufff’ Deal With ITV

Things are looking good for lovable ITV star presenters Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, with the pair extending their financial relationship with the broadcaster for another two years in a ‘golden handcuff’ type deal.

The new contract will bring Ant and Dec back for another series of Britain’s Got Talent, I’m A Celebirty… Get Me Out of Here! as well as the return of Saturday Night Takeaway.

Game-show Push The Button (which was produced by their production company Gallowgate) will not be coming back, but if ITV gives Red or Black the go ahead for another series, the two will return to host.

The hosts’ previous contract saw each of them bringing in about £5m a year and it’s reported that while they will be accepting slight pay-cuts (we’ve all got to make sacrifices!), the two can expect to bring home a similar amount each year.

The Guardian reports that ITV director of television, channels and online Peter Fincham is ecstatic about the deal. “Ant and Dec remain at the very top of their game as two of the nation’s most popular television stars. Their ability to connect with our audience is unrivalled and I’m delighted that we’re extending our exclusive partnership with them both for a further two years.â€?

The celebrity hosts have been with ITV since 1998 and have become mainstream stars in their own right. With this and the success of their production company, expect the Art and Dec empire to keep growing.
