Avengers Director Films ‘Much Ado About Nothing’ In 12 Days

Despite being wrapped up in the upcoming Avengers project, Joss Whedon has managed to secretly film a screen adaptation of Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing.

The story leaked last night through tweets by Nathan Fillion and Clark Gregg, who will be featured in the film, which contained links to the project’s website (http://muchadothemovie.com/).

Somehow Whedon found time within his doubtlessly hectic Avengers schedule to shoot the black and white film in Santa Monica over 12 days. Not only that, but he managed to keep it a completely under wraps until last night, no easy feat in Hollywood. The film will star Amy Acker and Alexis Denisof as Beatrice and Benedick and the supporting cast will include Fran Kranz and Reed Diamond as well as Fillion and Gregg.

Clearly, Whedon had culminated a cult following amongst his favorite actors and can count on their loyalty. According to the site, the “film should be completed by early spring and headed for the festival circuit, because it is fancy.”
