The ex-MP was eliminated from the contest after finishing bottom of the leaderboard and failing to pick up enough viewer votes to keep her, and professional partner Vincent Simone, out of danger.
Ever the diplomatic politician, Currie apologised to Simone for stuffing up his chances of getting anywhere in the competition: “I feel sorry for Vincent, because he has worked very hard. He’s been a terrific teacher, he really, really has.
âAnything that we did wrong is entirely my fault. Whoever dances with Vincent is a very, very lucky woman.”
But as with every good TV game show, Currie has not gone away empty handed. The 64-year-old has admitted that she had lost approximately half a stone in weight during her “absolutely fabulous” Strictly stint.
And Simone had nothing but praise for the former Tory Health Minister: “I just want to say I’ve had so much fun with you. Which I didn’t expect because you were a ‘politicianist’.â?
The pair serve as the perfect example of why itâs important just to stick to oneâs day job.
