The mystery lady at the heart of Britainâs Got Talent crooner Ryan OâShaughnessyâs heart-breaking love song has been revealed.
Katie Lucia Keegan, 19, tweeted âWoooo, itâs me!â? to pals after hearing the heart-wrenching ballad No Name which was performed on Saturdayâs show.
Nineteen year-old Ryan revealed his secret love for the lifelong pal in a BGT audition slot.
Ryan attempted to woo his âfriendâ? with lyrics which shmoozed “I’m falling deeper in love” and “I try to talk but I can’t”. The love struck teen’s ballad may have moved the audience to tears but Katie is proving to be a tougher nut to crack.
The pair have now had several conversations on the phone and Ryan said: “She’s loving it and is flattered. But I don’t think she realises I’m in love with her yet.”
Come again? What more does the guy have to do?
The pair met at Portmarnock Community College in Dublin six years ago and became mates. Ryan says he fell in love with her on the day he took Katie to their school prom last September. He said: “When I saw her in that dress, I thought she looked beautiful.
âShe makes me nervous. I don’t want to rush in. She’s my mate, she’s a nice girl and has a beautiful smile.
“If I win I’ll spend my £500,000 on a holiday for just the two of us, and maybe a sparkly ring if she’s lucky.”
Pals said Katie is “overwhelmed”. One, Dan Malone, added: “She’s the girl they all fancied at school.”
But this love story has a heart-wrenching twits which could scupper his dream to âsing in the live finalsâ?.
Earlier this year Ryan appeared on the Irish version of The Voice and signed a contract with Universial Music.
According to the rules of BGT competition, he should not be allowed to compete in the show. The youngster is now begging bosses to free him from the contract and is hoping that public support will help to win them over.
