Bradley Cooper Back For Silver Linings Playbook?

He’s in it, then he isn’t, then he is again. Bradley Cooper is now apparently back in for the lead of David O. Russell’s forthcoming film The Silver Linings Playbook.

Up until recently, the film was set to star Russell regular Mark Wahlberg as a former high-school teacher who gets institutionalised for depression. Following his release into his mother’s care, he tries to put his life back together and attempts to reconnect with his ex-wife but also develops a relationship with a neighbour.

Cooper was actually originally set to star when the film was orginally cast but dropped out. Anne Hathaway was also up for the female lead until scheduling conflicts with The Dark Knight scuppered that.

Her part passed to Jennifer Lawrence and Wahlberg picked up the torch for Cooper but now Lawrence has other commitments in the shape of Hunger Games which has pushed the production back forcing Wahlberg to drop out. Wahlberg is now looking to star in the black-listed Broken City instead.

That means that Cooper’s now back in discussion to star and he might be bringing a little known actor called Robert De Niro to the table as well. We’ll have to wait and see how this pans out – at the moment pinning anything down is like trying to nail jelly to the wall.
