Channel 4 have announced that the next series of Big Fat Gypsy Wedding will be the last and cited “creative reasons” for discontinuing the show.
The cult programme, which delved into the crazy traveller lifestyle, will be returning for one more series of six episodes next year, but that’s our lot.
We say that, but presumably Channel 5 will pick it up immediately.
âWe have got to a point where we are thinking differently about that franchise,” said C4 controller Jay Hunt. “There will be some more Gypsy Weddings next year but we are not doing another series.”
âEntirely for creative reasons, we have reached the end of the line. There comes a point where you have to move on.â?
