Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke is in discussion to direct British gangster movie Diamond. Frankie And Alice writing team Joe Shrapnel and Anna Waterhouse are working on the script which is mostly a mystery at the moment (although Screen Daily reports that it’ll be set in the swinging 60s of London).
Interestingly it’s being funded byNicola Horlick, the famous investment manager dubbed “Superwoman” by the media for juggling a high-flying financial career with six kids. She must be bloody exhausted.
Hardwicke, whose last movie was Red Riding Hood, has plenty of projects on her plate at the moment including Bosse Hogberg biopic Knockout (hopefully with Noomi Rapace), thriller Dot War and young adult novel movies Maximum Ride and The Maze Runner. She did also have her eyes on the adaptation of If I Stay, an adaptation of the fantasy novel by Gayle Forman but she’s since been replaced by Brazilian director Heitor Dhalia.
