Charlize Theron has pulled out of Clint Eastwood’s next project J Edgar, the biopic of FBI founder J Edgar Hoover but there a rumours abound that she’s done so in order to take the lead in Ridley Scott’s Alien prequels.
Apparently Theron’s agent at William Morris Endeavor were a little bit over-zealous in accepting the role before consulting Theron, leaving her to apologise to Eastwood for pulling out of a role she hadn’t actually accepted.
Meanwhile, Ridley Scott still sees Girl With The Dragon Tattoo star Noomi Rapace as the best choice for Elizabeth Shaw, Fox are keen on a more established actor to bu lk out the cast list of unknowns.
As for things that are confirmed, Theron has recently signed up for Snow White re-imagining Snow White And The Huntsman as the evil queen.
Eastwood is busy adding to the J Edgar cast – he’s already got Leonardo DiCaprio, Armie Hammer and Judi Dench but he’ll now be looking for Theron’s replacement with Amy Adams and Naomi Watt’s names been thrown about.
