The 25th anniversary of the original “Chucky” film – which saw the soul of a brutal serial killer and voodoo practitioner transferred to a sinister-looking toy – is fast on the approach. Speaking at North Carolina’s Mad Monster Party convention, Brad Dourif, voice of the infamous doll, has now confirmed that not one, but TWO Chucky films are being sent through the production line.
It is not yet totally clear whether the first to be released of the upcoming pair, The Revenge Of Chucky, will take the story in a totally new direction, or remake a previous instalment. Word on the street, however, is that it will be a darker and more sinister re-telling of the 1988 original, perhaps offering a few new plot twists.
Franchise creators Don Mancini and David Kirschner, have reportedly been planning a sixth film for some time and Brad Dourif is still on to voice the evil doll….but no word on timescales yet.
