George Clooney is reportedly getting ready to direct a film about the 2008 Wall Street bailouts by the US Government – fortunately bearing no relation to the Michael Douglas’s 1987 classic Wall Street or the sequel. You know, the one starring Shia LeBoeuf and all those massive robots…
According to Variety, the movie will be based on a story in the Washington Post by Laura Blumenfeld called “The $700 Billion Man.”
Presumably everyone in Hollywood has decided to keep their respective mouths shut about the irony of making a film to chastise financial promiscuity that will inevitably cost a lot of money to make. It’s probably for the best.
