Craig Revel Horwood has revealed that he is backing ballerina Darcey Bussell to take Alesha Dixonâs place on the Strictly Come Dancing panel.
The Aussie judge made little effort to hide his disdain for the former Misteeq singer-turned-judge through his praise of the prima ballerina.
Speaking of Bussell, he told The Sunâs TV Biz: âShe’s very credible, has done the show before and she’d love to do it. I’d really like to see her on the panel.â?
Dixon made waves when she announced that she would be switching her allegiance to ITVâs Britainâs Got Talent earlier this year.
Karen Bruce, a Strictly choreographer, is also in the frame to join the dance show’s judging panel. She has already impressed the showâs bosses with her outspoken views at a screen test but is yet to convince Revel Horwood.
Speaking at the launch of new BBC2 show, Maestro, Craig simply said: âKaren is well thought of.”
Maestro will see the tanned dance panel diva attempting to conduct his way through one night at the Royal Opera House in London. He will be joined by DJ Trevor Nelson, actress Josie Lawrence and maths professor Marcus du Sautoy.
After all the sniffy comments he has doled out to former Strictly competitors, Craig admitted that he is nervous about the reception his performance will get.
He said: “It’s good to push the boat out and challenge yourself.
“Everyone at Strictly will be following my every move, hoping I go wrong. But winning matters a lot to me.”
Weâll be watching, Craig.
