Damon Expected To Make Directorial Debut With Father Daughter Time

matt-damon300After watching his friend Ben Affleck achieve a great deal more success behind the camera than in front of it in recent years, it seems that Matt Damon may also be about to sign up to direct his first movie.

Deadline have reported that the Bourne star is seriously considering jumping on board newly-purchased spec script Father Daughter Time: A Tale of Armed Robbery and Eskimo Kisses as both star and director.

Written by Matthew Aldrich (Cleaner), the script follows a man on the run with his daughter who just happens to be his accomplice on a crime spree that spreads across three US states.

Despite arriving without any stars attached, the screenplay sparked a bidding war between some large Hollywood players, including Paramount, Warner Bros., Relativity Media, producer Walter Parkes and even Matt Damon and producing partner Chris Moore showing interest. It now appears that Warners have won that race, and Matt Damon (who has a first-look deal with the studio) is expected to sign-up as the lead and director of this father/daughter crime yarn.
