One (and only) hit wonder Chesney Hawkes may miss his Dancing on Ice debut because of a crippling ankle injury.
All 14 of this yearâs competitors made an appearance on This Morning but Chesney was MIA and is said to be “resting”.
It seems that the celebrity ice skating show remains one of the most dangerous reality competitions on TV, with three further celebs fessing up to injuries.
Sugababe Heidi Range narly made an early exit after she damaged bones in her wrist and dislocated a rib in rehearsals but has managed to keep things together. Her professional partner Sylvain Longchambon was not so fortunate and has already left the line-up after tearing a tendon in his right bicep.
Range said: âIâm gutted because he was the one who taught me to skate and you build a trust. He was like a security blanket.â?
Eastenders star, Laila Morse, also took a tumble which means she now needs an operation on her shoulder. Even this bold blonde seems to be having second thoughts about her future in the show.
Laila admitted, âI must have been off my head when I said Iâd do this.
âI need an operation on my shoulder. Iâm in constant pain â itâs a bit like having a very bad toothache that never goes away.
âThe doctor said I shouldnât do the show, but I donât want to let everyone down.â?
Tragic news also emerged that Keith Chegwin had to withdraw from the competition after his first and only rehearsal. The nutty presenter broke three ribs and fractured his shoulder after his first outing on the ice.
The way this yearâs celebrity cohort are going, it remain to be seen who will actually be able to stand for the final â let alone skate convincingly for it.
