British X Factor fans and womenfolk will be sighing with relief this morning after Simon Cowell announced that lovable boy-next-door Dermot O’Leary will not be the face of the US X Factor.
The music supremo revealed that he would be looking for two American hosts for the show and has his heart set on a “non-conventional female superstar and a male pin-up singer” according to The Mirror.
Dermot will obviously be gutted with the news but it does mean that his presence in the British version of the show is unimpeded. Hurrah!
O’Leary said that he is “disappointed” by the news, but claimed that he was proud to be the only British presenter on the final shortlist. Cowell is expected to reveal his line-up of judges and presenters over the next few weeks.
