Steven Moffat has clarified the situation re. The Doctor Who Movie by explaining that the film will not be a reboot of the series, but a companion piece.
There had been much speculation that David Yates big screen project would move in a different direction to the BBC series after an interview he gave recently, but Moffat explained that the director had been misunderstood.
âMovie thing: David Yates, great director, was speaking off the cuff, on a red carpet. You’ve seen the rubbish I talk when I’m cornered.â? he tweeted last night, before adding.
âTo clarify: any Doctor Who movie would be made by the BBC team, star the current TV Doctor and certainly NOT be a Hollywood reboot.â?
The news will be welcomed by fans who feared the movie might be a brash American version of their beloved show (Torchwood anyone?)
