Doctor Who’s Amy To Get Chop In ‘Heart-breaking’ Storyline

Amy Pond will be leaving Doctor Who during the next series of the show, in a ‘heart-breaking storyline’.

Apparently she will be appearing in a handful of episodes before leaving with on-screen hubby Rory – who’s exit no one really seems to care about at all.

“It is very disappointing,” said Matt Smith after an exclusive Doctor Who screening last night. “We took over the show and had to hold hands and help each other.”

“But this show is about change and regeneration and that is very galvanising and pushes it forward.”

Actress Karen Gillan will be appearing as model Jean Shrimpton in a BBC drama next year and she will be missed by many Doctor Who fans.

Steven Moffat explained that the Doctor Would be making a new friend in the wake of her departure. “The final days of the Ponds are coming. It’s during the next series. I’m not telling you when and I’m not telling you how. The story is going to be heartbreaking.”

Moffat revealed The Doctor would be “taking a new friend”. He said the sidekick had yet to be cast, adding: “I’m not going to tell you anything about he, she or it.”
