Loud-mouthed ‘tart with a heart’ Kat Slater will be returning to EastEnders later this week, yet her time with Alfie Moon is coming to an end say BBC bosses.. (Roxy will be pleased!)
But never fear, because the short-skirted strumpet (played by Jessie Wallace) will be sparking up a ‘long-term affair’ with a new man from Albert Square this summer and EastEnders writers are determined to keep his identity a secret.
Indeed bosses are so concerned that Albert Square blabber-mouths will ruin the surprise for viewers, that they’ll be shooting scenes with an extra standing in for whichever Walfordian turns out to be the lucky* bloke.
âThe consequences are not only great for Kat and Alfie, but also for each individual suspect,” said Lorraine Newman, the soap’s executive producer. “The audience will join the cast and crew guessing across the summer and autumn as we eliminate the suspects one at a time, leading to one almighty explosion.â?
Yet the Beeb have explained that Kat’s new fella will be one of FIVE existing characters, and those five are..
Max Branning, Jack Branning, Ray Dixon, Michael Moon or Derek Branning (really?)
*Admittedly, that’s a matter of opinion..
