A documentary about the death of Diana, Princess of Wales is set to cause outrage by showing a photograph taken in the moments following her fatal car crash in Paris.
The film, titled Unlawful Killing directed by Keith Allen is to be screened at the Cannes Film Festival and documents the fatal car accident in September 1997 when Diana, her partner Dodi Fayed and their chauffer Henri Paul were killed in the Pont de l’Alma road tunnel in Paris.
The black and white image used in the film has never been shown in the UK, and like everything else on the planet with the exception of garish Michael Jackson statues, it’s inclusion has angered Dodi Fayed’s father Mohammed Al-Fayed.
A representative for Fayed told the Daily Mail; “He was not aware that any photograph taken of any occupant of the car was going to be in this film. He is appalled by that and will be taking all necessary steps to make sure it is not in the film.”
A spokesman for the filmmakers adds, “The picture has been published in full before, in many parts of the world. We acquired the image from an Italian magazine, which had already published it in full. It is also widely available on the web. We are therefore not publishing anything that the rest of the world has not already seen elsewhere.”
