Bakers Dog Food will broadcast British television’s first ever advert for dogs on ITV1 this evening, in a publicity stunt designed to boost the brand’s profile and tap into pet pester power.
The commercial, of which Don Draper & Co would be proud, is a tribute to The Italian Job which features whistles and barks above 17,000 hertz, designed to get the attention of any canine “viewers” who happen to be near the television.
Any pooches in the vicinity of a TV set at 7.15 this evening (during the Emmerdale ad-break) are expected to react by pricking up their ears, tilting their heads or walking over to the TV set.
