Filming for Alfred Hitchcock And The Making Of Psycho began on Friday and with that comes the first picture of Anthony Hopkins as Hitch.
The story will concentrate on the difficulties that Hitchcock faced while making the iconic slasher flick in an era when most studios wouldn’t countenance funding such a project. It’s got an incredible cast including Helen Mirren as wife Alma, Scarlett Johansson as Psycho star Janet Leigh, James D’Arcy as Anthony Perkins, Jessica Biel as Vera Miles. A last minute surprise addition is former Karate Kid Ralph Macchio who will play writer Joe Stefano.
It’ll be directed by Anvil! The Story Of Anvil director Sacha Gervasi. Quite what he’l make of the story remains to be seen but the likeness of Hopkins and Hitch certainly bodes well.
