Lifetime, the US TV network responsible for a feature length dramatisation of the love affair between Kate Middleton and Prince William, have released a trailer. The film charts their nine-year relationship, from the first meeting at St Andrews University to the moment Wills got down on one knee. Due to a lack of budget, the University of California, with its distinctly American campus, will masquerade as the couple’s Scottish college.
There are all the wonky British accents and melodramatic moments you’d expect from a TV movie set in the UK but shot in Los Angeles. The producers even bought in stock footage of the Highlands, to make St Andrews of California look right at home. The movie is currently on sale to international broadcasters, including those in the UK. Any takers? Sky? ITV? … Anyone?
