Flight Of The Conchords Star Joins Cast Of The Hobbit

The Hobbit 300Brett McKenzie, the New Zealand born actor and start of hit series Flight Of The Conchords, will appear in The Hobbit, reports Variety.

He will be playing Lindir, an Elf of Rivendell after briefly appearances and an Elf in two of the Lord Of The Rings films – alongside his father Peter McKenzie who played Elendil.

The Hobbit has finally started shooting after various delays including the Hollywood writers’ strike and the health trouble suffered by director Peter Jackson.

J. R. R. Tolkien’s novel will be split into two films, the first of which is scheduled for release next year, with the follow-up arriving in 2013.
