Freezing People Is Easy For Paul Rudd

Not the news that Paul Rudd is going all David Blaine on us, but the news that he is frozen into a new lead role.

The furry-faced funny man has said “yes” to a lead role in a new comedy caper from the brains of Zach Helm (Stranger Than Fiction, Mr Magorium’s Wonder Emporium).

The movie’s based-on-truth plot was inspired jointly by memoir We Froze The First Man and an episode of ace US radio series This American Life, which both look at Bob Nelson, a 1960s television repairman who decided to push the boundaries of cryogenics by roping in those who wanted to be frozen post mortem.
Apparently, freezing people was not quite as easy as he thought.

Rudd’s pretty much locked in to the role but director Errol Morris is setting his sights on securing plenty more top notch cast members. Comedy sweetheart, Kristen Wiig, fresh from her hugely successful involvement in Bridesmaids, is number one on his hit list.

But what with her own new project with Bridesmaids co-writer Annie Mumolo and plenty of acting offers flooding in, she has put her decision to commit to Morris’ film on ice.

If things go to plan shooting will start for the film later this year, but as to who will be on set – your guess is as good as ours.
