The show, which premiered on Sky Atlantic on Monday, is set in the land of Westeros and follows Eddard Stark, played by Sean Bean, and the struggle between several noble families for the right to sit on the realm’s Iron Throne. It’s based on the first of George RR Martin’s A Song Of Ice And Fire novels.

The first episode received a US audience of 4.2 million on HBO.
