Gillian Anderson To Join BBC’s Great Expectations

Gillian Anderson is in talks to join the BBC’s adaptation of Charles Dickens Great Expectations. The star who played Agent Scully in the X files is set to play Miss Havisham, with negotiations underway.

This is by no means her first appearance in a Dickens drama appearing in the BBC’s adaptation of Bleak House as Lady Dedlock for which she won a BAFTA.
More recently she appeared in BBC Two’s The Crimson Petal And The White and Channel 4’s Any Human Heart.

Great Expectations is expected to air on BBC One this Christmas. We wait with baited breath as ‘I had heard of Miss Havisham up town – everybody for miles round, had heard of Miss Havisham up town’.
