Ginger Spice (aka Geri Halliwell) is set to replace former panel loudmouth, Kelly Rowland, in this yearâs X Factor judging line-up.
The 39-year-old will appear as âguest judgeâ? tomorrow in Liverpool when auditions for the show begin, but show bosses have now confirmed that they want her on board full-time by Boot Camp stage.
A senior show source told The Sun: âGeri is not just a guest judge â she is our judge-in-waiting.
“We want her to do it and she wants to do it.
âWe will be watching her like a hawk at Liverpool and fingers crossed it will go well and sheâll be signed. Weâre not talking to anyone else.â?
In contrast to Dannii Minogueâs £1million offer to return â Gezza is thought to have been offered £400, 000. But the show provides unrivalled access to career-boosting Saturday night exposure and, as long as history doesnât repeat itself for Geri who was booed profusely when she stood in for Dannii Minogue in 2010, she should be on track to release another solo album by Christmasâ¦
Leaving ITV panel shake-ups behind us, we head for calmer seas over on the Beeb.
BBC One big dog, Danny Cohen, has spoken of his desire to keep hold of all four celebrity judges on The Voice UK.
He told the Radio Times: “I’d love all our judges to come back. I love them all in multiple ways.”
He was then promptly reminded that this was a family show and went on to praise Tom Jones for his âconstructiveâ? approach to âcriticismâ?.
The show has lost viewers in recent weeks after a positive start with the swivel chairs, but Cohen added that he did not envisage “mega-changes” being made to the format.
