It’s official. The gangster classic, Goodfellas, is going to be made into a TV show and will be brought to us by the same network as Mad Men and The Walking Dead.
This inspired idea was first put out there a couple of years back but what with the success of other fifties-inspired series, it seems that AMC bosses have finally taken the plunge.
At this early stage, nobody is sure whether Scorsese will be involved with the screen adaptation himself but there is good news in the shape of the book’s original author, Nicholas Pileggi.
Pileggi, who collaborated with Scorsese on the film, will be writing the first script of the new show along with Homicide: Life on the Street writer, Jorge Zamacona.
Following hot on the heels of Scorsese’s phenomenally successful, Boardwalk Empire, and at a time when the vintage vibe is winning with audiences, we are very excited about what this new AMC project could bring.
Three big roles…one amazing project…who will our stars be?
