Helen Flanagan Suffers Corrie Panic Attack

Coronation Street star Helen Flanagan, who plays Rosie Webster, has suffered a panic attack on the cobbles.

The 21-year-old actress reportedly stopped in the middle of a scene and began to hyperventilate and clutch at her chest.

A witness said: “It was very distressing for everyone to watch. She’s a young, bubbly girl and was in a right state. It came on all of a sudden. It was very scary for Helen and for everyone else in the studio.”

Flanagan was taken to her dressing room to calm down but has since revealed that she has experienced several attacks in recent weeks.

A spokesperson for Coronation Street said last night: “Helen has experienced a number of panic attacks recently. It is something she is trying to deal with to move forward.”

The young star recently spoke out about the abuse she faces in the street from fans who confuse her personality with Rosie’s vicious attitude.
Back in February she said: “People can say really nasty things to me when I’m out and call me really nasty names.

“If somebody said something mean to Rosie, she would snap back with a really good answer, but I’m not like that. I just think, ‘Why are they being mean to me?'”

Luckily the cast and crew of Corrie are always on hand to offer support. Flanagan told the: “I love the people at my work. So many people here are understanding and make me laugh. I’m very lucky.”
