Helen Mirren is the latest star to clamber on board the long-gestating project Alfred Hitchcock And The Making Of Psycho, a dramatisation of Stephen Rebello’s non-fiction book about Hitch’s struggle to get the film made, even at the peak of his popularity. His belief in the movie eventually led to him raising funding himself and the rest is history.
Mirren would play Hitchcock’s wife Anna Reville while Anthony Hopkins is already on board to play the great man himself. She hasn’t signed on the dotted line yet but early reports are encouraging.
The script is by Black Swan co-writer John McLaughlin and Stephen Rebello. It was originally green-lit over at Paramount but has been languising there for four years. Fox Searchlight have now picked up the ball and seem to be getting things moving as Heat Vision Blog report that Anvil! The Story Of Anvil director Sacha Gervasi shooting is scheduled to begin in April.
