Those Horrible Bosses may have been away from our screens for a while but there has been plenty of plotting and scheming in the highest echelons of New Line HQ.
According to recent reports, a HB sequel is in the pipeline. With a hefty $209 million banked last year as a result of the first film’s worldwide success, it was surely only a matter of time a hilarious second film about beleaguered workers planning to kill their awful supervisors was dreamed up.
Bosses writers John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein have reportedly been re-hired to begin the penning process.
The pair had their profiles bolstered significantly by the first Bosses film and have been working away on Steve Carell’s comedy, Burt Wonderstone, as well as an upcoming sequel to imaginative cartoon comedy, Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs. Their considerable comedy successes should no doubt help out a second Bosses effort.
Director Seth Gordon, brought the original in for around $35 million, is likely to be brought back around the boardroom table after being credited as a big factor in the film’s success.
And with any luck, there will be enough cash to lure stars Jason Bateman, Jason Sudeikis and Charlie Day back to the lead roles.
No mention as yet of a release date but watch this space…
