New details have surfaced regarding Steve Knight’s new film, Hummingbird. The writer who famously penned Eastern Promises, has now received $20 million from IM Global to go ahead with his next project, which he will also direct.
The film is set to star Jason Statham as a former Special Forces op drawn into London’s seedy underworld. Eventually he comes to reinvent himself, making amends for his crimes by taking down criminals.
Statham will be featured in the upcoming 2012 films Safe, Parker and The Expendables 2. Knight has recently worked on Clash of The Titans 2, Dan Brown’s The Lost Symbol and Larklight.
