The I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here… producers proved what a cunning bunch they were last December when they recruited the unspeakably foolish fibber Gillian McKeith to be their jungle muse, and they have their eyes on another reluctant traveller for this year’s series.
Karl Pilkington has revealed that ITV bosses approached him recently about starring in the reality show, but Ricky Gervais’s mate has told The Sun that he fears he wouldn’t get on with his co-stars.
Before we go any further we’d like to highlight that we are in no way trying to draw any comparisons between Pilkington and the Scottish celebrity. One is a legend and one… isn’t, but we’d love to see the Idiot Abroad star in the jungle for his cracking banter. Unfortunately such an situation seems unlikely.
“I am not a fan of spiders, but I don’t think anyone is. My main worry is being stuck with whoever else is there. My worst nightmare would be to see Ricky.” But Gervais insisted he had no time for reality TV, saying: “Why would you ever want to do that? I’d never do it.”
