Idiots Vote ‘Home Alone’ As UK’s Favourite Xmas Movie

In news that will raise further alarm bells about the state of Cameron’s Britain, a ton of culturally-bereft idiots have voted for Home Alone as the UK’s favourite Christmas movie.

In one of those inane surveys of over 2,000 adults(!) for video-on-demand service blinkbox, Home Alone emerged as the favourite movie to watch over Christmas, winning 28% of the total vote. Close behind was Raymond Briggs’ classic animation The Snowman, with 27% of the vote.

Criminally, classics such as It’s a Wonderful Life, Die Hard, Gremlins and family favourite A Muppet’s Christmas Carol all missed out on a place in the top five, losing out to Miracle on 34th Street (26%), Elf (20%), and Love Actually (18%).

The survey revealed that Christmas is the time UK folk watch the most television, with the average adult spending five and a half hours a day in front of the TV over the festive period.

The poll also asked participants about their viewing habits over the Yuletide period, and discovered that 78% of people like to watch the same movie every Christmas.

OTB appreciates Home Alone is warm festive fun, but it wouldn’t make our top 50 Christmas films, in all honesty. Don’t get us started on Love Actually
