Little-known actress, Isabelle Fuhrman (Orphan), who will star in upcoming drama, The Hunger Games , is currently in talks with M. Night Shymalan about a bigger part in his upcoming sci-fi film, After Earth.
If everything goes to plan, Fuhrman will be working alongside Will Smith, action movie veteran and former Fresh Prince from West Philadelphia (born and raised, on the playground was where he spent most of his days).
The film, which was to be called 1000 AE, follows the adventures of Will Smith as a hero in a the midst of an otherwise uninhabitable planet. He’s travelling with his son (played by real-life sprog Jaden) when the two crash-land on Earth. With his father injured, it’s up to the boy to prove his mettle and rescue them both.
Fuhrman is up for the role of Rayna, the younger Smith’s character’s best pal and will also be sharing the screen with Brit actress, Sophie Okonedo, and Zoe Kravitz (X-Men: First Class, Twelve).
After Earth is currently targeting a June 7, 2013 release slot so there nay be along road ahead for the actress before any deal is sealed. Fuhrman will also be appearing as Clove in The Hunger Games, which hits screens on March 23. Not long to wait.
