ITV Bans Corrie Bosses From Appearing on Strictly

ITV bosses have barred all Coronation Street stars from appearing on BBC reality series Strictly Come Dancing, calling the decision a ‘no-brainer’.

The news will put an end to rumours that Michelle Keegan (who plays Tina in the Weatherfield soap) will be appearing in the show, which traditionally goes up against ITV’s X Factor in the run up to Christmas.

“It’s a no-brainer for us,” and insider told The Sun. “Why would we allow cast members time off to go to film a show for a rival channel?”

“The BBC’s offer never got off the ground – we wouldn’t release her from her contract. That goes for everyone else in the cast – but we are more open when it comes to ITV shows.”

Chris Evans, Fern Britton, Ronnie O’Sullivan and Michael Vaughn are some of the stars rumoured to be part of this year’s ballroom dancing series.
