ITV has denied claims that Ant and Dec vehicle Red or Black? has been axed.
Reports spread last month that the broadcaster planned to drop the show after its second series struggled in the ratings.
The rumour mill went into overdrive at the end of Saturdayâs (September 29) edition, when the announcer stated it was the âlast in the seriesâ? rather than the âcurrent seriesâ?.
The broadcaster denied this is the case, insisting no decision has been made about the fate of the high-cost game show. A spokesman told the Daily Star: âThe run has finished and we will make any announcement about another series in due course.â?
ITV is said to want to end the Simon Cowell-created Red or Black? because of high costs, while Ant and Dec are said to be looking to focus on other projects like Iâm a Celebrity and Saturday Night Takeaway.
Ant later insisted: “Iâm sure youâve read what Iâve read, and weâve had no conversations with ITV whatsoever.”
