ITV chiefs have been bricking it following the departure of the high-trousered entertainment mogul Simon Cowell, with Cheryl Cole and most recently Danni Minogue also saying goodbye to the show.
Since bagging Barlow, channel bosses are also rumoured to be in offering Tulisa Contostavlos from N-Dubz, touted by some to be the new Cheryl, just £500,000 to appear. That’s three times less, as the brightest amongst you will have spotted.
Simon is reportedly still trying to tempt Destiny’s Child star Kelly Rowland to the show’s panel, with ex-judge and debt-ridden Sharon Osbourne also rumoured to be keen on a return. This news follows Dizzee Rascal apparently refusing to be a judge on the show.
