Jack Dee Gets Greenlight From Sky Bosses

Excited...sort of

Jack Dee’s audience participation comedy pilot, Don’t Sit In The Front Row, has been commissioned for a full series by Sky Atlantic.

The show – which first aired in January – is a mix between a panel show and a stand-up format which involves four guest comedians using members of the audience for comedy inspiration.

The more suited the selected audience members are at supplying suitable material for the comedians to use in their routines, the longer they are involved, until eventually one is left, who is reportedly given ‘The Golden Chair Award’.

Sky’s Antonia Hurford-Jones said: “The spontaneity of the audience interaction is what makes the show so exciting.â€?

The show is expected to come to Sky Atlantic later this year.

This show is the first successful panel show pilot for Dee, as far as the aforementioned network is concerned. Last March they piloted another panel show which the deadpan comic hosted – Us Versus Them – which involved figures from the world of politics and current affairs taking on comedians to find out who knew most about the week’s news.

But the pilot wasn’t ordered with channel bosses instead opting to go with David Walliams’ panel show Wall Of Fame, with Dee installed as a regular panellist on the series.
