If you feel that you have not seen enough drama from the hairy-chested, silver-clawed phenomenon that is Wolverine, fear not.
Hugh Jackman has announced that the upcoming spin-off Wolverine film, which will follow on from X-Men Origins: Wolverine, is likely to have a more daring R-rated version.
Director James Mangold is considering the possibility of shooting some scenes twice so that one of the films could be viewed by younger fans.
Jackman told Collider.com “James Mangold and I talked about an R-rated version and we’re like, ‘Look, let’s not put it off the table.’
“There’s even talk about us doing two versions, as in finding a way to do both while you shoot it, which could be really cool. But you need to have a really good reason to exclude those fans.”
An R-rated movie would mean that those under 17 would require a parent or guardian to see it.
He added: “There is such great temptation to make an R-rated Wolverine. I’ve always felt that, I know a lot of fans would like that, and if there’s ever gonna be a superhero that’s gonna be R-rated it’s Wolverine.”
Never mind R, we’re pretty sure an X-rated encounter with the bulging biceps and almighty power of the hairy hero would not be pushing it too far for many Jackman fans.
