Jake Humphrey Quits BBC To Be BT Football Host

BBC Formula One presenter Jake Humphrey will become the face of BT Vision’s Premier League football coverage when it debuts at the start of the 2013/14 season.

Humphrey, 33, who covered some of the BBC’s European Championships football coverage from Polkraine over the summer, is quitting the Beeb after ten years.

Initially a presenter on CBBC, Humphrey went on to become an integral part of the BBC Sport team, fronting Formula One coverage, the London 2012 Olympics and BBC Sports Personality of the Year.

BT won the rights to show 38 live games a season in June, in a three-year deal that includes 18 ‘first pick’ games – the first time a network other than Sky has won rights to prime live Premier League matches.

Match of the Day viewers are now praying BT don’t poach Alan Shearer too, as the razor-sharp insight and analysis he shows time and time again is irreplaceable, at the end of the day.
