Stephen King’s seven-novel series The Dark Tower is set to be made into films, and according to reports No Country For Old Men’s Javier Bardem is close to a deal to star.
Bardem will reportedly play Roland Deschain, a man who is the last living member of a knightly order called ‘gunslingers’, who embarks on a quest to find the Dark Tower, becoming humanity’s final hope in the process.
The films will be directed by Ron Howard (Frost/Nixon), written by The Da Vinci code’s Akiva Goldsman, and production is expected to start in September.
The deal for the novels includes three films and two TV series, so expect to see an awful lot of this over the next few years.
